“The End of the Tour” I don’t know if Jason Segel has managed to channel the personality of the late David Foster Wallace. But Segel gives a thoughtful and detailed performance as the troubled writer of the doorstop “Infinite Jest” on a book tour with a writer from Rolling Stone played by Jesse Eisenberg.
“Jimmy’s Hall” Ken Loach drama set in a depression era Ireland, about a ex-pat who returns home to reopen the public house that got him deported in the first place. A Palme d’Or nominee.
“Diary of a Teenage Girl” Refreshing but horrifying coming of age story told from the perspective of a 15-year old girl – the 22-year-old actress Bel Powley – who discovers and takes control of her own sexuality during an affair with her mother’s older boyfriend.
