MATC Names New MPTV General Manager

The Milwaukee Area Technical College has appointed Bohdan Zachary as general manager of Milwaukee Public Television, it was announced Wednesday.

bdHe replaces Ellis Bromberg, who served as MPTV’s general manager since 2000 and is retiring later this month.

Zachary has been senior VP of broadcasting, programing and syndication with KCETLink in Burbank since 1997.

According to , while at KCET he was: “Responsible for the acquisition and scheduling of all programs for KCET and Link TV, as well as the syndication of any programming KCETLink produces or acquires. ”

And he was project leader on the syndication of BBC World News to nearly 200 PBS television stations.

KCET is the second most watched independent public TV station in the US.

In a release Zachary said he foresees “an expansion of MPTV’S local productions to further reflect the voices, faces and needs of the communities it serves.”

MPTV consists of WMVS and WMVT and seven additional digital television services.
