Jane Matenaer has officially – finally, some might say – been named co-host of the WTMJ-AM morning show with Gene Mueller, the station announced Tuesday.
Matenaer had spent five years as morning host at WDLB-FM until April when the station switched formats.
Previously she worked at WMYX-FM for 15 years.
She joined WTMJ on a part time basis in May. She replaces Jodi Becker.
In a memo to staff Tom Langmyer, vice president and general manager of Milwaukee radio operations for E. W. Scripps Company, said:
“Having Gene and Jane presenting the news of the day brings this top-rated news and information program to even higher levels. We have two very experienced broadcasters and Milwaukeeans in the anchor chairs – adding to our commitment to LOCAL connection and local, well-known voices.”
The station had originally hired Bonnie Petrie to replace Becker. Petrie left the station in October after being diagnosed with spasmodic dysphonia, a treatable voice disorder.
