New GM AT MKE Radio Alliance Stations WLUM, WLDB, WZTI

Steve Kosbau has been named general manager of Milwaukee Radio Alliance stations in Milwaukee, it was announced Tuesday.

Mostly recently Kosbau, an Iowa native, was market manager for Detroit stations WRIF, WCSX and WMGC. He was previously president and general manager for Detroit station WDVD and WDRQ.

Milwaukee Radio Alliance owns WLUM, WLDB and WZTI. The station group is a partnership between Willie and Duane Davis’ All-Pro Broadcasting and Scranton-based Times-Shamrock Communications.

Kosbau replaces local area radio veteran Bill Hurwitz who has announced his retirement. Curiously the announcement by the station did not mention Hurwitz, who was national sales manager at All Pro for 20-years before becoming VP/GM in 2003. Early in his career Hurwitz also worked in sales at WQFM.

Kosbau’s appointment is effective immediately. It was announced by Mitch Dolan, COO, Times-Shamrock Radio & Outdoor, to whom he will report. Kosbau began his broadcast career as a DJ in Des Moines and worked at stations in Denver and New York City.
