A new management broom is sweeping clean at the Milwaukee Radio Alliance.
The radio industry newsletter reports that Stan Atkinson has left the group. Atkinson was program director and announcer with “Trending Radio” WLDB-FM and programmed WZTI-AM/FM.
MRA sales director was also reportedly let go.
WLDB was 12th ranked station in the Milwaukee market with a 3.3 share down 0.4. in the December ratings.

WZTI, formerly Martini Radio and rhythmic oldies and now “Milwaukee’s True Oldies Channel,” was ranked second from last, above WMSE-FM.
Atkinson’s departure follows the retirement of Bill Hurwitz as general manager of MRA stations in Milwaukee – including WLUM-FM – co-owned by Willie and Duane Davis’ All-Pro Broadcasting and Scranton-based Times-Shamrock Communications.
Hurwitz was replaced by Steve Kosbau, an Iowa native, and market manager for Detroit stations WRIF, WCSX and WMGC. He was previously president and general manager for Detroit station WDVD and WDRQ. The changes likely reflect Scranton asserting itself at the long time locally managed stations.
Weeks after his retirement Hurwitz became GM at KCXX in San Bernadino, owned by All-Pro.
Atkinson is an 18-year market veteran and spent 12 years at MRA.
